Hi,

Just finished setting up ebox 0.9.99 for a test drive. Currently, the
ebox is set only to serve as the PDC of the three clients with Windows
XP Professional SP2 as their OS.

Upon accessing and managing the files created on the group-shared
folder by the three clients, the challenges that others have
encountered earlier, also happening here.

"file-a" created by "user-1" can be edited by "user-2", which belong
to the same group with "user-1", only if "file-a" is to be "saved-as"
a new file.

So, as many times already discussed earlier on this mailing list, the
samba configuration file and its stubs are now modified. The entry
"force created mode" and "force directory mode", both on the file
/etc/samba/smb.conf and /usr/share/ebox/stubs/samba/smb.conf.mas are
all now 0770.

Restarted the ebox, even restarted the machine. "user-2" tried to edit
"file-a" one more time, and now he can do it straight away without
being asked to "save-as" a new file. Case closed.

Next challenges is for "user-2" to delete "file-a". Well, ebox just
don't allow that. Is there anyway to tell ebox to give way? The users
on the domain will need to be able to do this.

Additional information shown on the terminal of the ebox regarding the
permission bit of "file-a" is "-rwxrwxr--".

Steve
