Hi

I am looking at using TightVNC in preference to EchoVNC. This is for 2 main
reasons:
- so the server can be run as a service so no user login required and automatic
restart of service after reboot
- also because we do not want people local to the server PC to see what a
remote user is doing and TightVNC has the "Blank screen on
client connection" and "No Local input during client connection" options

The current test setup is all latest versions of EchoWare RSS 1.2, running on a
LAN accross 3 PC's: 1. Echoserver 2. TightVNC server
3. TightVNC viewer

Server service starts correctly upon system startup and TightVNC Server makes a
connection to the Echoserver correctly.

The TightVNC viewer connects to the Echoserver correctly.

If I enter the echoserver username of the TightVNC Server PC into the viewer to
initiate a connection I get "failed to get server
address (xxx). Did you type the host name correctly?".

I am able to view the server if I enter the IP address of the TightVNC server
directly.

Also I have the "Blank screen on client connection" ticked but even when the
direct IP conenction it doesnt blank the screen ... do
you know if this a bug in the branch of TightVNC that this version is based on?

Many thanks

Chris
