It's been nearly 2 years and I have not seen any software ever to
achieve the following:
1- First, my setup: I have an XP at home with a direct cable modem.
At home PC both Echoserver and TightVNC (modified for echoware)
server are installed and working just fine. At work, the PC with XP
is behind a company proxy. Only ports 443 and 80 are allowed.
2- I have downloaded EchoWare Remote Support System today (29 April
2006) and installed all apps except "echoWinVNC.exe" on both PCs.
3- Using the modified TightVNC Viewer application, I tried to
connect to the echoserver at home PC and get the following info
that is abstracted from Proxyloggen.log. It looks like the problem
is "HTTP/1.1 407 Proxy Authentication Required". I even entered
user name and password that I use to logon to Windows although it
is not required. I know it is not required since any browser passes
through the proxy for port 443 connections but any other software
such as STUNNEL fails to do so.
I am simply trying to connect to the PC at home by eliminating the
below problems and I am willing to buy any software that can do
this. Kindly let me know if Echoware can help me in this regard?
