Scott, This setup runs fine under XP Pro. FYI, the test mule is an Apple Mac Mini 1.66 Core Duo / 1 gig of ram with 3 partitions. XP Pro on one and Vista Business on the other. Installs are very virgin, except for the addition of Office 2007. Screen is 1440 x 900. InstantVNC 1.33 works fine on the Pro partition.
The echoserver / viewer is XP Pro with 512 MB. Use it all the time with echoVNC and XP clients. RWIN on the main desktop is 16800 and the MaxMTU is 1440. I have played around with a MaxMTU of 1500 on it with no improvement. Everything is hardwired 100 MB. I can set the colors to 256 and screen scaling and actually watch it update the screen about every 15 seconds from the time I click on something new. Do the "Request screen refresh" and it updates pretty fast. File transfer works fast too. 1.5 megs in a second or 32 megs in about 25 seconds. I tried port 1328 too. Same slow speed. Barry: Everything sounds right, except the "so slow" part. :) If you run InstantVNC on *another* LAN PC, one not running Vista, does it work correctly (i.e., quickly)? thanks, Scott On May 11, 2007, at 6:58 PM, Barry E.
