Steve:

EchoVNC 2.32 does support Vista. In fact, a very
motivated development partner worked very closely with us for
several months, making sure that everything they needed for
Vista made it into this release.

However. :) Vista is awful: there are many flavors
(Home, Biz, Ultimate...), many options (fast-user switch, UAC...),
modified security modes (CAD popups cannot be remoted by a
non-priv'd process) and even "themes" inside of the flavors
that wreck havoc with trying to insure VNC compatibility. It's
so bad, it's beyond intentionally bad.

Our last-ditch solution was the "compatibility mode"
of EchoVNC, such that non-EchoVNC Viewers *and* Servers can
still be used in conjunction with EchoVNC. So just in case
someone (e.g., RealVNC, which retails a commercial version)
solves the Vista-compatibility issue, EchoVNC can still help
establish those connections.

That being said...I would enjoy hearing what the
direct experiences of EchoVNC users are, in regards to Vista.
Not that many people ever post to this list. :)

cheers,
Scott
