HI Luy,
I don't know if I am the best person for this but we are a support
company in the UK using echogent.com's version and its probably the best $200
(now $300) I have ever spent on support software, it knocks PcAnywhere & RDP
into a cocked hat.
Anyway how to describe its usefulness?
What you need (apart from downloading and registering/paying for the software
if you use echogent)
A windows PC with a net facing IP, we use and XP pro box
echo.jla-computers.co.uk (currently 213.165.232.178) you don't need DNS you can
just setup the IP.
Somewhere to host instantVNC (we bespoked it and renamed it support.exe) we
have registered jlahelp.com for this but any site you have will do.
Once you have your echo server (packet relay server) and a host for instantVNC
up and running the rest is just getting echoVNC installed on your support
persons (PC) PC's
Run the echoVNC viewer and you have a list of clients running instantVNC or
echoVNC server to take control of
It's wonderful
Your supported customers with think it's out of this world, "you mean you can
just do it for me?" YES Done support call closed.
PITFALLS, yes as with everything there are some, DUAL screens, Techies run
them, use EchoVNC 2.01 for server and it's OK with the 2.32 viewer
I hope this helps.
