Hello! So I think we implemented your idea in this 1.39 pre-release:
ftp://ftp.echogent.com/InstantVNC/beta/InstantVNC_1.39pre01.zip
Instead of "scottpc", it will show "PC-errorcode", where that error
code can help us debug the issue. Hopefully you can reproduce the
name not showing up problem with this version ...
