Hi Folks,
Having trouble with a remote screen refresh. No matter what I do the Echo
Viewer screen wont update on its own . I have to manually refresh to see any
changes.
Here's the rundown on what I'm running .
Laptop with Vista Home 32bit EchoVNC 2.35
Desktop with Vista64 Premium EchoVNC 2.35
My own registered echoserver 1.50
History:
Connecting from the desktop to the laptop works fine . no issues at all.
Connecting from the laptop to the desktop is where the troubles are.
Both worked fine a few months ago. First ran into the issue while on
vacation in August.
Not aware of any major changes to anything on the laptop but you know how
that goes when installing software.
I did a search on the web and the list and found a couple items with the
same issue. One was REALLY old . sometime in '07 and the more recent one
didn't have a solution. Looked like the sender never responded to a finally
message.
I just update both machines to 2.35 thinking this might help and the first
test from the laptop to the desktop worked fine but every attempt since has
had the same issue that started this mess.
I've tried different screen settings and also reinstalled the laptop again
without the mirage driver. No change. I also tried it via the demo server .
no difference.
I have since done another full reinstall.
I'm sure it's something with my laptop but after many many hours I'm stumped
and hoping someone else has ran into this and can tell me what I'm missing.
I'm on the verge of nuking the laptop to see what a fresh Vista install will
do for me but figured I'd try the list first.
Any help would be appreciated. I've used VNC for years now and rely on it so
I'm not chained to my desk.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Best Regards,
Mike Allton
