I am trying to use InstantVNC. It does not seem to work.

I start InstantVNC on the "remote" computer with the default settings.

It says:

Address: demo.echovnc.com
Password: ********
Login name xyz

I click OK. It says Success! You are now connected to <demo.echovnc.com>...

Now I start the EchoVNC viewer, check connect via EchoServer, make sure I
have the demo server listed.

xyz does not show up in the "My Connection Groups" list. ???

If I start and configure tEchoVNC server on the "remote" computer, I can see
it in the list and connect fine.

I can swap computers, i.e. make the other one the remote and echoVNC viewer
and server work fine as well. This tells me that both computers are able to
get out and establish connections with the demo EchoServer.

But InstantVNC doesn't work either way.

What am I missing?
