hi, excuse my ignorance but I have followed all of the instructions
for
installing the driver for the modem. I sent the log round in my previous
email. Do I have to configure the /etc/ppp/options file as well and
set the pppd running before I run the 'startmodem' command. Whe I just start
the pppd from the command line I get some gibberish:
}}}%&}}{{!!$4......
and /var/log /messages eventually complains:
Connect:ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1
LCP:timeout sending config-requests
When I ran 'startmodem>log' I just got messages saying that a driver
was not found for the modem.
I don't know what's going on here....please help!
