Sorry, I didn't make clear in my first post that the ioctl-error happens only after
many passes of LCP ConfReq (if at all) so I don't thinkt that's my (main) problem.
Nevertheless here are the additional infos you requested and at the end there is the
last part of the output from startmodem (if no ioctl-error occures).
