[ECI] Topcom Webracer 850

Hi everyone,
as I saw on the site , http://eciadsl.flashtux.org/support.php?lang=en ,
the adsl usb modem Topcom Webracer 850 should be working under Linux.

But I don't get it to work properly.
I'm using RedHat 8.0 , kernel version 2.4.18-14, pppd version 2.4.1.
This is what I do.
I'm using the stable release (0.5-2).
First I make sure that dabusb is not loaded. That's going good : I managed that to do. Then, I configure my provider settings with eciconf.sh. Also no problem here.
Then, I want to "start" my modem with "startmodem", but it freezes at a certain packet (depends on what bin I use : the "default" bin freezes at 259). I've tried ALL bin's, but none of them works properly :(.
This is what eci-doctor.sh says when executing it :

BTW : I'm from Belgium (Planet Internet).
I'm really desperate. I've tried everything. I've tried the new release candidate (0.6 RC2) but there I doesn't recognize my modem, even if I select the correct one in eciconf.sh.
That's what I get when I use that release (executing startmodem) :

What could be the problem? I really like Linux, but when I don't have internet, it's just not the same :(


Does anyone has a solution to my problems?
