Hi all,
I have a few doubts regarding the kernel mode modem driver ...

1) the startmodem script fails with this error : ./startmodem: line 2:
/proc/ezusb/dev0: No such file or directory
googling gave me that there is a general purpose driver, EZusb that
needs to be loaded for the firware to be updated. However i couldnt find
the ecia specific version of this driver and the original version has
unresolved symbols. Can anyone show me where it is ?

2) The readme suggets that i need a patched pppoatm.so plugin for pppd
to work. However there were no build instructions within the cvs
snapshot . Where should i go to do so as I am not exactly fond of
recompiling core stuff like pppd.

3) Assuming that i do not need a patched pppoatm.so, where should i go
to get the needed sources ? googling showed many sites and this is not
one of my strong areas in linux. This is important because my red hat El
3 does not come with these goodies and my suse 9 (which has them by
default) got messed up.

4) I am trying out the kernel driver because the userland one does not
detect any valid sync files and trying to make one from usbsnoop failed.

I have a Globespan Virata Chipset. The stickers behind says tera -100u,
teragate inc. made in korea. This is the one supplied by my ISP
(Touchtel, India). The box is marketed here as Bharti Modem. I am trying
to get this modem work on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.

Regards and thanks in advance
