I don't know of a 2.4 patch available. Where?

The changes I have removed are related to usb/devices.c usb/devio.c
usb/usb.c and usb/storage/transport.c, so it should not depend of the
controller.

I have tested with speedtouch and eciadsl 0.10 on usb-uhci and usb-ohci (on
different motherboard)
It fail with 2.4.28 kernel, work with 2.4.27 and with the modified 2.4.28.
I have tested too with cxacru and eagle-usb drivers. It work with both and a
standard 2.4.28.

To my poor understanding of the problem, the problem should be related to
the use of a parent and a child in a user-mode program.
With the change in 2.4.28, the access to something became exclusive so the
other try to access forever.
With usb debug enabled at compilation, nothing special is displayed. I
should try with strace later.

Nota:
the space at the end of "ECI HiFocus " goes back again in
eciadsl-nortek-0.10 alpha and this cause me trouble as I add a tab to the
name in grep to differenciate "D-Link DSL200" from "D-Link DSL200 rev B".
