:-[ I apologize to the ml! My problem was due to my brainless kernel configuration, lacking of CONFIG_PPP_SYNC_TTY kernel option caused the problem... However I follow the tips suggested by Hetfield and now all work great! Thank you very much for the feedback and for this useful piece of software!
