With Sun's WTK2.2, at least, it is important that you get the WTK set
correctly as you install, as Sun hard-codes the location of the WTK into
a number of files in the WTK installation. (Look at emulator.bat, for
example) Stupid design, because if you update your JDK, you have to
uninstall and reinstall the WTK, but that's Sun for you.

One thing you can double check is that you can run the emulator
manually. In the "bin" directory in the WTK, try "emulator -Xquery".
You should get a text dump that goes something like:

        # List of supported devices
        device.list: DefaultColorPhone, DefaultGrayPhone,
MediaControlSkin, QwertyDevice

        uei.version: 1.0.1
        uei.arguments:
Xverbose,Xquery,Xdebug,Xrunjdwp,Xdevice,Xdescriptor,Xjam,Xautotest,Xheap
size

        # Properties for device DefaultColorPhone
        DefaultColorPhone.description: DefaultColorPhone
        DefaultColorPhone.screen.width: 240
        DefaultColorPhone.screen.height: 320
        DefaultColorPhone.screen.isColor: true
        DefaultColorPhone.screen.isTouch: false

And so forth.

EclipseME needs to run the emulator this way to extract the phone
information, so if you can't run it manually, it won't work inside
EclipseME. If you can, that's at least one thing checked off the
list...

Subject: Re: [Eclipseme-users] EclipseME 1.6.6 and Sun WTK 2.5

Hi Craig,

i testet WTK2.5 on WinXP - it worked fine.

Things i recognized:
- The windows firewall once asked me, if i allow
the emulator.exe to execute. Of course i answered yes
- When installing, the Java-Installer found my JDK installed
on a strange path. See screenshot (or here):
    http://psitronic.de/wtk_install.JPG
I changed that directory - maybe that was the problem?
