I am using SE SDK 2.2.4, EclipseME 1.7.6 and Eclipse 3.2.2. I can launch
multiple instances of the emulator but Im sorry I dont have a clue as to what
may be preventing you from doing the same. I faced the problem of code not
getting updated only when I used the eclipseme preprocessor. In that case, I
had to do a clean before the preprocessor changes were updated. I had some
other problems with eclipseme which got resolved by updating to 1.7.6. Hope
this helps...

I notice that sometimes the changes that you make to your code they aren't
updated and when you launch the sony ericsson emulator it's actually running
the previous version.
It's funny because this was a bug that used to only happen with mpowerplayer.
Also, notice various other bugs. Many times when starting the emulator it
will not stop on a breakpoint and you have to restart it again.
Also the stop button does not close the emulator. Also, it won't let you
launch two emulators. The previous emulator has to stop before you can launch
again.
I don't rember these problems happening with older versions of eclipseme.
I am using Windows xp, and eclipse 3.2.2
