I just tried (dribble "/tmp/foo.log") in ECL 11.1.1 (Ubuntu) and it puts nothing into the file. (Maxima writefile punts to dribble iirc.) Actually iirc that behavior is conformant with the CL spec, which doesn't require that DRIBBLE do anything at all iirc.
