Sorry, I misread the Mart's email.

Now ecl has version 15.3.7 and (asdf:implementation-identifier)
return "ecl-15.3.7-9db31fd7-linux-i686"

But my question, don't you want to add -rc in the end? ecl-15.3.7-rc

If you will be fixinig something, how what version number you plan
to assign to the the actual release?
