The following issue has been resolved as FIXED.

Project: Nuxeo Enterprise Platform 5
Fix Versions: 5.1 M1

 Description   
maybe this should be done by the document parent so that it can be specific to the storage.
for instance the ":" character is illegal for a jcr path
