Comment:
I put the ticket back to blocker since we are still leaking a lot.
Steps to reproduce and furthernotes notes:
- create a doc with an attachment
- multiply it to 100 docs by exponenential copy and paste
- search for it's title in the search form => watch the memory usage grow with a simple system monitoring tool such as "top"
- click on the dashboard (populated thanks to search service queries) memory usage grows as well (each click on the dashboard page can cost 15MB)
- other read only navigation (not based on search service queries) leaks as well but at a much lower rate
- when reaching 830MB on my box ( -Xms128m -Xmx512m) the server crashes with heap space memory errors.
- importing ~200 small text files by D&D leaks memory to the point of saturating the memory
Next step: use a memory profiler such as jprofile to find the leaking instances.
