Resolution: Fixed
The problem is due to the fact that even in view mode, when the component is
inside a form, the setter is called when submitting the form and the existing
value was replaced by en empty one.
Now, when calling the setter, I check if we are in view mode for this
component, i.e. if the displayValueOnly attribute is set to true.
