For windows there is no binary version for DSS 6.0.3. Waiting to create Visual
project in our QA system we will use DSS 5.5.5 that only needs Perl installed.
For installing DSS 5.5.5 on windows :
- Add an exception for ports that will use DSS on the windows Firewall (TODO
get these ports)
- Download Active Perl
- install Perl
- Download DSS binary file from http://static.macosforge.org/dss/downloads/
- launch the .exe file that will unzip DSS files somewhere
- Start install.bat
- Choose a username and a password
- when finish don't close command line window
- Connect to http://localhost:1220
- Enter the Username and the password
- Change the password
- Valid default configuration exept for media location choose ... => to be
defined
Some useful command :
- to reset administration values : WinPasswdAssistant.pl
- to restart the server : streamingadminserver.pl
- to start the server as service : TODO
