Nuxeo cannot distinguish between groups and users regarding email notification

Scenario: When a user with a non-administrator role sends his/her document for
publishing approval, nuxeo sends out alerting email to the administration users
and groups.
Issue: Regarding the administration groups, nuxeo considers the groups to be
individual users and attempts to send email to the users.
Desired functionality: Nuxeo should be able to distinguish between groups and
users. Regarding the groups, Nuxeo should look into the members of these groups
and then send the alerting email to the members of these groups.
