Having a list of case and a view on one case

I would like to be able to view a case, in a panel under the current mailbox
(Outlook-like)
I started to add a region fragment under the main area fragment, and tried to
override viem_cm_case so that it would define my region fragment, but I can't
succeed in keeping the list of case in the main area.
I guess it's due to a lack of variables in this context or else..
Do ou have any idea?
