Hi,

Anahide and I had a discussion tonight about the opportunity of semantic web technologies for business cases and ECM. Basically she argued that it's an interesting piece of problem for researchers but not really interesting for our customers/users compared to simpler and more straight forward approach such as fulltext search and classical statistical based ranking of the relevancy of
search results.

I did not quite agree with that, and once again /. came right in time to point
us to the following counter argument:

Though developing such a component for NX5 would require quite a big of
investment (for instance combining the wordnet lexical base, some text
analyzers, a semantic reasoner (some might be included in Jena), and a common sense base such as wikipedia) and is clearly not a short term priority, I think such a semantical search engine would still be an useful feature to target on a
medium term.
