If what you are looking for is *only* an evaluation of Nuxeo 5, may I
suggest you to take a look at the "ready to use" official installer at :

http://www.nuxeo.org/static/NuxeoEP/nuxeo-ep-5.0.0.GA-installer-1.jar

It will save you some time.

Cheers,

Well, this was my first attempt to understand what is going on.

The Ga installer worked perfectly and gives me a working nuxeo instance
with some minor problems (a corrupted login screen; the system refuses
to authenticate but, if you insist, you are authorized anyway; when you
try the genetare PDF file on an OO document uploaded you receive an
error saying that you don't have an OO instance runnind even if you run
the command shown).

Yes, you need to setup an OpenOffice instance in a special way for the tranformations to work.

Besides, the GA installer misses some libraries related to OOo conversion, so you would have to wait for next release (or install from the source) to use it.

But the problem is that I cannot see nothin justifyng the switch from Plone:

    * no mulitlingual inteface

Last time I checked, there was one, with 3 available languages (English, French and German).

There was an Italian translation, by Georgio Grillini, but it not currently activated by default (not sure why, maybe because it was done a couple of months ago and is not up to date).

We'd be very glad to get updated property files for Italian (and other languages) if there are any volunteers.

    * poor documents types

There are, in the default application only two "document types" (non- folderish, in the Zope sense): "files" and "notes".

It has been designed, however, to make it easy to extend the system with new document types (as well as many other functionalities).

We even have a tutorial about it here:

http://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/nuxeo/browser/doc/Tutorials

    * seems only able to create folders and simple docs

See above
