Currently, you can directly edit a document from the browser into
MSWord and have it saved back to the server, using Nuxeo LiveEdit.
The next step is to replace the sharepoint integration into MSOffice
with a Nuxeo EP integration. It basically means that you will be able
to browse workspaces, edit documents, edit metadatas, show versions
and perform basic workflow tasks directly from MSOffice (word/ excel/ppt).

This will be done also for OpneOffice documents?

We are working on OOo integration too.

Of course, the more customers will ask for OOo integration, the faster development will proceed.

Or, if you are interested in helping out, you can contact Laurent Godard ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) through this list or directly.

(the goal is to replace an ms-office <-> srarepoint framework with an
open-office <-> nuxeo framework)

That's a very honorable goal, indeed :)
