Lots of things (everything, in some sense) is configurable in the
Nuxeo platform.
We try to provide a default application that is configured to satisfy
the most common needs, and to showcase as well most of the features
of the platform.
So maybe you should tell us what your specific needs are, i.e. what
you'd like to be different than the default settings.
