Hi, connection-url for unified-nuxeo-ds.xml should be jdbc:mysql://localhost/nuxeo and read carefully ch 40.4.1.1. Special MySQL needs (http://doc.nuxeo.org/5.1/books/nuxeo-book/html/admin-database-configuration.html#d1779e7527), it works fine for me.
