When Jackrabbit stores its data in SQL, it does so in big binary blobs
that are serialized Java objects. So it's pointless from an SQL point
of view.
With Nuxeo's new Visible Content Store, the data is nicely laid out in
tables with schemas that actually resemble your application's schemas.

Hi,
Jackrabbit can also use SQL as one of the physical storages. So what
does this mean by "moving away from Jackrabbit to a SQL storage
model"?
Are we moving away from JCR?
Sorry for the very basic question.

Brian

The SQL storage model (Visible Content Store) is just more flexible
for
us, and it's important for many of our customers and developers to
have
low-level visibility of what's stored -- SQL is just better for that.

Great, I'll join shortly. Is there a reason why Nuxeo is moving away
from Jackrabbit to a SQL storage model? Just wondering, I'm actually
pretty fond of Jackrabbit and was wondering why the move?
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm happy to report that our group has just reached 200 members,
less
than 2 weeks after having been launched.
There has already been some interesting discussion in the group,
including very insightful comments by Jonas Sigurdsson - which have
been published on the web later by our friends of Yerbabuena:
