I'm not sure if this is what you require, but here's what I use in Debian: sudo -u postgres psql postgres ALTER USER postgres WITH ENCRYPTED PASSWORD 'password'; CREATE USER nuxeo; ALTER USER nuxeo WITH ENCRYPTED PASSWORD 'password'; CREATE DATABASE nuxeodb OWNER nuxeo; CREATE LANGUAGE plpgsql nuxeodb; \q
