I can't reproduce your problem, could you give me the exact step you followed.
Here is what I have done.
- create a workspace "w" and subscribe both Administrator (the user) and
administrators (the group)
- create a folder "a" so it is w/a
- create 2 subfolders "x" and "y" (w/a/x and w/a/y)
- modify the name of "w" to "ww"
=> I get only one notification.
