No, you should be able to just place the file in the nuxeo config
directory (any files named xxx-config.xml are assumed to be OSGI
component contributions and applied last during deployment).

Hi Maxime,
You have to create a custom contribution and place the resulting jar
file in the plugins subdirectory.
In your development environment you create the virtualnav-config.xml
in the OSGI-INF subdirectory and then add the file name to the
MANIFEST.MF file in the META-INF subdirectory.
If you haven't setup a contribution before i suggest you do the Ian
Smith tutorial (http://www.nuxeo.org/static/dev-tutorial/)
Cheers,
Bruce.

Thanks Bruce,
Where should I insert this file please? I am still learning the
nuxeo config.
Should I put it in deploy/nuxeao.ear/config?

Hi Maxime
I created a contribution called virtualnav-config.xml and explicitly
disabled both virtual nav components. The xml is
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<component name="ca.metalogic.virtualnavigation.config">
<require>org.nuxeo.ecm.virtualnavigation.directory.DirectoryTreeService.contrib</require>
<require>org.nuxeo.ecm.platform.virtualnavigation.NavTreeService</require>
<extension
target="org.nuxeo.ecm.webapp.directory.DirectoryTreeService"
point="trees">
<directoryTree name="bySubjectsNavigation"
enabled="false" />
<directoryTree name="byCoverageNavigation"
enabled="false" />
</extension>
</component>
