The page returned by: curl -u Administrator:Administrator http://cmis.demo.nuxeo.org/nuxeo/site/cmis/type/Root validates perfectly with tidy. The fact that xmlns:cmis is present on several tags is not a problem, these are not nested tags. It's an implementation detail of the way the StAX libraries used generate namespaces, and should be of no concern.
For us to help, you'll have to give us more details about the actual code that you run and the errors that you get.
