FYI :
in our LDAP directory (Sun) the user password is encrypted with SSHA-1
our Nuxeo DM 5.3.1 configuration : like described here
http://www.nuxeo.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/LDAPSetup
we don't do anything to encrypt password before Nuxeo calls the LDAP server
