Deleting (or not) relations when documents are deleted have as many variations as we've had customers. What about trashed documents? What about undeleted documents? What about versions? What about publication? What about synchronization? So by default in Nuxeo we do the simple thing and don't delete relations when deleting documents. If you wish to do so, a simple Listener and a few lines of code can do that.
