Hello,

That cannot work because it's too late for adding the JAR into JBoss' classpath.
That could have worked if you wanted to add it into Nuxeo's classpath.
There's also the risk that JBoss try to deploy the JAR as a nested JAR if it's 
in the root.

Another solution is to add your JAR file into your custom template (see
http://doc.nuxeo.com/display/NXDOC/Configuring+Nuxeo+EP); it won't be at 
runtime but startup time.
