of course housing needs to be built; that wasn't the issue. and of course
responsible development is what most of us are looking for. but how many
developers consider the environment before profit? how many people living
in the suburbs have seen inane construction methods, such as bulldozing
everything in forested land, building houses, and having to replant grasses
and trees- often choosing those that will die in a few years because they are
not adapted to the area's climate? i think this was the point doug was making,
and i think this was generally understood.
