Male violence - Kylie's recent post

Kylie - in your recent post you said that male violence against women 
increases with age.  Could you tell me where you got this 
information?  My reason for asking is that all the statistics I have 
seen conclude that most violent crime is committed by young men - 
under 25 - not older ones.  Or is violence against partners more 
likely to be committed by older men because they are much more 
likely than younger ones to actually have partners?
