When talking of a partnership against weeds, we should keep in mind that many things that we regard as weeds are edible plants or useful in the ecology of the area. Tomatoes used to be regarded as poisonous. Many things we now think are flowers used to be called weeds and some things that used to be regarded as flowers or garden food are now called weeds.
