                ON-LINE CONFERENCE: RUREMPLO
                    October 2 - 27, 1995

              **** CALL FOR PARTICIPATION ****


You are invited to participate in an online conference on the
theme of Rural Employment.  It is scheduled to begin the week
of October 2-6, just prior to the International Symposium
"Perspectives on Rural Employment" taking place in Coaticook,
Quebec, Canada from October 11 - 14, 1995.  The online
conference will continue through the symposium week and into
the following week(s), depending on the volume of ongoing
discussion.

Details of the International Symposium program will be sent to
subscribers. During the Symposium, highlights will be posted
daily and Symposium participants will be encouraged to enter the
discussion online. It is an opportunity for those who are unable
to attend the Symposium to participate in discussion on some of
the major issues concerning rural employment.

THEME:

Discussion is organized in themes mirroring parts of the
Symposium:

-Rural employment and the information highway
-Informal economy
-Agriculture
-Education and youth

The resolution for the Symposium's "Great Debate"  will also be
posted to receive the opinions of subscribers.

The online conference is bi-lingual (English and French).
Subscribers can contribute to the discussion in their language of
choice.
