19TH-CENTURY UNITED STATES. The history department at the 
University of Denver is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure track 
assistant professorship to begin in September 1996. In addition to 
specialization in 19th century U.S. the successful candidate should 
have expertise in the history of the American West (19th and 20th 
centuries), and an interest in teaching one or more of the following 
fields: Environmental, Southwestern, Gender Studies, Hispanic-
American, Mexican, or Latin American history. An earned Ph.D. by 
August 1996 and a strong commitment to teaching is required. 
Salary competitive. Sent letter of application, c.v. and at least three
