A final year Industrial Design student, Assumpta Sweeney, at the National
College of Art and Design is working on a dissertation with the title
"The Design and Marketing of Women's Sanitary Protection
(tampons and sanitary towels)
She is trying to find information on the following:
What women used before commercial products were available.
What women who cannot afford, or to whom sanitary protection is not
available, use.
The environmental effects of the manufacture and disposal of these products.
Alternatives to conventional protection.
If anyone has any information that they feel will be helpful to her, they
