Dear esther: your comments are interesting. I am familiar with Alice Hamilto
n's work. She was recently inducted into the Safety and Health Hall of Fame In
ternational located on our campus. I would appreciate receiving 1. a list of
SHE heroes and their major accomplishments, 2. Data and references on women
around the globe at a) decision making positions, b) physical labor, c) intell
ectual level, 3. data on SHE women in agriculture, and 4. visuals (pictures, sl
ides, videos, etc) showing women working in agriculture or related operations.
I would like to communicate with scholars interested in activities in
the area of SHEP (Safety, Health, and Environmental Protection)- holistic and i
nternational. I have difficulty in distinguishing between the the three elemen
ts of SHEP continuum. In order to improve SHEP women, who constitute about
half of the humanity, must be actively involved in the decision making process.
I have been invited to make apresentation at the International Congress on Wome
n, Health and Work, Barcelona, Spain, April 17-20, 1996. My topic will be on t
he role of women in improving SHEP in agriculture. As you know, most manual
labor on the farms around the globe is provided by women. I would appreciate
your comments,thoughts, specific data and references. Suggestions on sources
of funding for this trip would also be appreciated.

I am a 56 yrold maleprofessor in Safety Science and Technology Department. My
areas of interest include: 1) Holistic and International SHE (Safety, Health,
and Environment), Cultural Variations of SHE, SHE Systems, SHE Management, SHE
Measurements; 2) Technology Transfer; 3) Sustainable Development and SHE, Role
of women in Development and SHE; 4) Profits with SHE Protection beyond Quality;
and 5) Ergonomics. I am interested in propogating these ideas through talks, s
eminars, workshops, and consultation. I have international experience and back
ground.
I would like to communicate with individuals who have experience, other
ideas, or suggestions. I am also interested in knowing more about your activi
ties .
