CALL FOR PAPERS:RPA, 1996: GLOBALIZATION FROM BELOW
The Second National/International Radical Philosophers Association
Conference will take place Novemebr 14-17, 1996 at Purdue University
(Lafayette, Indiaina). The conference's theme is GLOBALIZATION FROM BELOW.
The program committee, consisiting of Bat-Ami Bar On (SUNY at Binghamton),
Milton Fisk (Indiana University), Lewis Gordon (Purdue University), Alison
Jagger (University of Colorado at Boulder), James Marsh (Fordham
University), and Anne Pomeroy (Fordham University), welcomes papers on any
thematically relevant topic but topics of special interest at this time
include: social movements, modernization, feminism, civil society, global
capitalism, rise of the right, nationalism, racism, global economy,
sexuality ina global context, radical perspectives on population,
intra/international migration/immigration, Coca-Cola culture, alternatives
to privatization. Send 6 copies of papers or proposals for papers/panels
by March 1, 1996 to Professor Alison Jagger, Department of Philosophy,
Box 232, University of Colorado at Boulder, Boulder, CO 80309, USA.
Note: RPA is setting up a Graduate Students Travel Fund to allay some
travel costs for graduate students.
