Re: Eating Meat

I strongly question some of these so-called "facts" from 'Diet for a New 
American'.  Especially this one:

This whole argument of the meat eaters versus the vegetarians who disdain 
the
meat eaters is reminiscent of the feminist argument between the mothers 
who stayed
home to raise their children versus the working mothers (I mean working 
for a salary
outside of the home).  Neither one is better than the other.  Mothers who 
have stayed
home to raise their children have raised just as many maladjusted, 
gang-seeking,
drug-stupored, brain-dead teenage hoodlums as have the mothers who took 
their kids
to day-care and worked outside the home.  The same thing can be said for 
each group
who raised well-adjusted kids who grew up to be responsible members of 
society.

I don't want to see the environment destroyed even though I happen to be 
a meat
eater and fully intend to remain one.  You vegetarians out there should 
take off
your rose-colored glasses which make you think you are better than the 
rest of us
and go after the damn Republicans who are catering to corporate America 
and gutting
every environmental law they possibly can.  If Newt and his gang of 
Republican
terrorists get their way, we will all be drinking dirty water.  There are 
other
very important issues at risk in this world than whether the vegetarians 
are better
and more responsible citizens than the beef eaters.

So let's find another subject to claim superiority about and leave the 
meat eaters
alone.
