Okay (oh, I forgot already who I'm responding to), so your boss provides you with a computer (or a high tech machine, or a pen, or a hammer, or any other mode of production) and you do the labor required to produce the product (while your boss is busy doing supervising, paperwork, meetings, etc - not saying that this is not hard work) and you take home a meager salary/hourly wage and your boss receives, what percentage of the profit? Who *owns* the computer? I'm assuming that your boss didn't "give" you a computer. S/he is letting you use a computer so that your work performance is more efficient and in the long run, profitable. Who is doing the "physical" labor here? And who is receiving the most benefits? I'm not saying that all bosses are corrupt and I believe that the vision of proletariat as pure and somehow innocently victimized by capitalism must be changed. However, capitalism is a system which continues to provide more benefits to the owners and undercuts the importance of the worker through an inequal distribution of the goods in this society. I believe that 5% of the population owns/controls something like 60% of the wealth - have they rightfully "earned" this wealth? Does a person who works 40+ hours a week at McDonalds "deserve" to still be just at or below the poverty line? Tj.
