Capitalism is not the downfall of humanity. People are. However, a
capitalist, post-industrial, patriarchal society tends to have a lot more
complex and destructive problems. These societies tend to contribute a heck of
a lot more than their "share" of destruction to the environment. Capitalism
itself did not create these problems. However, as a system, capitalism seems to
demand expansion (technological, economic, etc) regardless of the consequences
to the planet or to the masses of people who are barely surviving in this
world. True, there are a few workers who are able to get what they feel they
deserve. But I feel that this is a small percentage of workers. The majority
are not, IMO, receiving their "share" at all (compared to the work that they
do) and a minority of wealthy beauracrats are finding new ways to exploit, take
advantage of, and earn more capital for themselves.

Capitalism is run by money, greed, wealth - things which, IMO, do very little
to promote a healthy eco-system or equality amongst all human beings.

Just my opinion, of course.
