Bravo to whomever mentioned Woman on the Edge of Time. Sorry, I accidentally
deleted your message. The first thing I thought when I started reading
ecofeminist theory was that Piercy definately read some of it too before she
wrote the book. Piercy's utopia is non-patriarchal, nature-loving. Perhaps
the most interesting concept is the way in which motherhood is restructured -
it is no longer a woman's job, but is responsibility is shared equally
throughout the society. Could this have been the first ecofeminist novel?
It was written in '76. Anyway, I definately recommend it to anyone who
hasn't read it.
